Nebula-More is More

When I thought about the phrase more is more, my mind immediately drifted to the vastness of space—a place where "more" feels like a natural state of being. The infinite stars, countless planets, and never-ending galaxies. Considering that space is also my namesake, it felt inevitable that my interpretation of said abundance would orbit in that direction. There’s something inherently poetic about how the universe constantly expands, always adding, always evolving—never static.
Inspired by that kind of endless, ever-growing energy, I decided to create my little version of a Nebula—made entirely out of earrings. I laser-cut a mix of stars and planets in different shapes, sizes, and finishes, from shiny metallics to soft matte colors. These became the building blocks for ninety-six unique pairs of earrings, each one kind of like its tiny solar system.
I arranged them on a piece of black fabric to mimic the look of space, letting the dark background help the pieces pop like stars in the night sky. The result looked like a constellation coming together—busy but balanced. There was a little bit of chaos, but in a fun, cosmic way. For me, it was a simple way to show how “more” can mean layers, variety, and energy, kind of like the universe itself, just on a much smaller (and more wearable) scale.
